Each county and city has its own reviewing agency, so every page below explains who reviews permits there and what tends to shape a project. Local rules and site conditions vary by address.
Los Angeles County
San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, the Westside, Pasadena, coastal cities, the South Bay and Long Beach. City of LA addresses are reviewed by LADBS and LA City Planning; other cities and unincorporated areas use their own building departments.
